The most important part of your application is the one sentence description of your work. We ask students and teachers to rate the sentences, to help guide who gets in. So have a think how you would describe your work to a 13 year old! Some tips:
The ability and range students taking part will vary, so it's best if you use language that's more understandable: find not identify, use not utilise.
Use imaginative language to describe your work, to grab the students’ attention by giving a real sense of what your work involves.
Don't say what type of scientist you are, instead say what you do at work, and what your job involves.
Show your one sentence description to someone else - not a scientist working in your field!
